Top 50 rankings for the rest of the season

Here are the top 50 players from this point on.

Thoughts?

Have I ranked upstarts like Hamilton, McLouth, and Quentin too high? Too low?

Should more pitchers (Volquez, Halladay, Kazmir, Sabathia) be included?

Am I still giving Matt Kemp more credit than he deserves?

I really think you are giving a lot more credit to Kemp than he deserves, especially with tht strikeout totals he has put up to this point.

I see you're optimistic about Rios, Bedard, and Vlad. I don't know if Phillips will be top twenty...He just doesn't do much for me. I agree with anonymous on Kemp. There is something about Nate McLouth that makes me want to punch a baby...maybe its cuz he isn't on my team...sigh. I do not think Volquez will keep his ERA below 3.50 for the rest of the year...I like Cueto better in the future than Volquez...donno why. Granderson was too lucky last year, and I think Crawford is so overrated and he will never hit 20 bombs. He isn't even as good as Ellsbury this year.

Random Q for you

Sanchez, Cueto, Guthrie, Parra, Cain

Can you rank these for the rest of the year?

I would say:
Cueto
Cain
Sanchez
Parra
Guthrie

Cueto could hit an extended rough patch in his rookie year, but the K/BB ratio is just too good to overlook. He's a risk, but one I'm willing to take.

Cain and Sanchez are close. They'll both suffer from the Giants' poor offense (although it's been decent lately). I give Cain the slight edge simply because he has a more proven track record. Sanchez has more beta (higher upside, lower downside) so if you're looking to take a chance, you could put Sanchez ahead of Cain.

I liked Parra a lot heading into the season and he's been kind of disappointing. The strikeouts are decent and should continue to be, but Parra's just giving up far too many walks. (Sanchez has the same problem, but makes up for it with even more K's than Parra).

Guthrie is a decent pitcher, but he just doesn't strike out enough hitters for me. And I think the Orioles' offense has seen its best days and will be headed down in the near future.
